The immune proteasome reveals a new aspect of its regulation
The immunoproteasome (i20S) plays a key role in the immune response, particularly in presenting protein fragments to the body’s defenses. An international study, published in *Nature Communications*, highlights a previously unknown mechanism by which the activator PA200 remodels the structure and activity of the i20S—a discovery that sheds light on the regulation of the immune response and could open up new therapeutic avenues in immuno-oncology.
